Add page numbers to a book PDF

Self-published book, family memoir, course handbook: a long document needs page numbers. PDFly numbers the whole PDF in one pass, from 1 or from the number you enter in Start at, and Skip the first page (cover) leaves the cover blank.

Steps

    Drop the book PDF into PDFly's Page numbers tool (files up to 100 MB).

    Choose the position: books are usually numbered at the bottom, in the center or in an outer corner.

    Choose the format, usually just the number.

  4. 4

    Click Run and download. The same position is used on every page: alternating left and right corners for facing pages isn't possible yet.
