Crop the white margins of a PDF
Academic papers and scans often have wide white margins that make the text tiny on a tablet or e-reader. Cropping them enlarges the useful content on screen. PDFly applies the same margins to every page.
Steps
- 1
Drop the PDF into PDFly's Crop PDF tool.
- 2
Set how much to remove on each side as a percentage of the page: Top, Right, Bottom, Left (5% by default, up to 40%).
- 3
Click Run, download the result and check it in your reader. If text is cut off, start over with smaller values.
- 4
Cropping hides the margins without deleting them: what lies outside the frame is still in the file, so don't use it to hide confidential content.
