Compress a PDF under 25 MB for Gmail

Gmail won't attach files over 25 MB and offers a Google Drive link instead. If you'd rather send a real attachment, compressing the PDF is the quickest fix. PDFly accepts files up to 100 MB and compresses them in your browser: the file never leaves your device.

Steps

  1. 1

Drop the PDF into PDFly's Compress PDF tool and start with the Standard level.

  2. 2

Click Run and look at the new size. If it is still over 25 MB, click Start over and try Strong.

  3. 3

If Strong is still too heavy, use Split PDF to cut the document into two parts and compress each one.

  4. 4

Download the result and attach it to your email. Text in the compressed file can no longer be selected, so keep the original.
